Directions
By Car (from the M6 motorway):
- Leave the M6 at junction 36 following the signs for the South Lakes and Barrow/Ulverston (A590).
- Follow all signs for A590 Ulverston/Dalton and then Barrow (bypass Dalton on your left and South Lake Wild Animal Park on your right).
- Once on the main Barrow Road, follow signs for the A590, Dock Museum, Docks and Walney Island.
- This will take you past Asda on your left, Furness Business Park on your right, and towards the Hollywood Retail Park. Tesco should be directly in front of you.
- Turn right at this large roundabout, keeping Tesco on your left-hand side and Comet on your right.
- At the next roundabout, turn right. This will bring you onto a black and gold bridge.
- Turn left at the traffic lights and the Brow Head Hotel is at the top of the hill, on the left-hand side, opposite the King Alfred pub.
Please be aware that there are several mobile and fixed speed traps in place after you have entered Cumbria. The mobile vans can usually be seen as they are yellow, but occasionally there is an unmarked van. They are usually situated on overpass bridges along the M6 and A590.
